Seattle and MLS Cup Championship Game 2009

this past weekend garretts whole family (excluding his parents) and i borrowed my grandpas 12 passenger van and drove to seattle. the purpose of the trip was to go to the MLS cup championship game that real salt lake played in (more on that in a bit). we left friday night after work and drove through the night, got to seattle at about 10 am seattle time, saw the sights in seattle the rest of saturday and sunday morning, went to the game, ate yummy pizza in our MOTEL room, went to sleep and drove home all day monday after repairing the van window that jj's head went through (no permanent damage done). it was a whilrwind weekend but lots of fun! p.s. garrett and i LOVED seattle, it is so pretty there! here is a glimpse into the weekend...

SEATTLE!!!

the LONG drive

in and around pikes place market-

the famous space needle, of course.

the whole clan eating dinner at the revolving restaurant
- sky city -
at the top of the space needle.
very expensive food and know that if you are going there you are paying for the experience. in my opinion the food was not great (i don't like fish though), but the experience was worth it, and the service was great.

seattle by night - on top of the space needle
thanks to husband for this picture as i was sleeping inside on the table since i had been up for about 22 hours at that point.

one of the highlights of the trip was this place called snoqualmie falls, they were huge and so misty! in this first picture you can see a little resort that looks over the falls and the river, garrett and i are determined to get back there for a anniversary or something and stay there.

we stopped by to look at the seattle, washington temple. here are some pictures of the temple and, in my humble opinion, some of the prettiest surrounding temple grounds i have seen. it is so green there, and there are so many huge trees full of color and life. they have this little area off to the side that is like a little mini forest with tucked in benches to sit on and an arch made out of trees. simply gorgeous.

real salt lake are the MLS cup champions 2009!

end regulation
real salt lake 1 - 1 la galaxy
penalty kicks
real salt lake 5 - 4 la galaxy

it was so exciting to be there and made the 13 hour trek well worth it! hopefully this will mean good things for the team and they will get even more support from the good citizens of utah!

the game, and the beautiful stadium:
we were up there, but i would say our seats were pretty great. we could see the whole stadium, the whole field, and had a great view of the city.

we win! we win! so happy. as you can see by garretts attire he was conflicted because he is such a big beckham fan. but i am here to say that he was genuinely excited and happy for rsl.

some of garretts friends who are also big real fans drove up for the game as well.
we met up with them for a quick picture.

back home in sandy at the celebration rally at rio tinto staduim

ole ole ole ole real salt lake
ole ole ole ole real slat lake
ole ole ole ole real salt lake...
until next year!

New Moon!

on thursday november 19th, 2009 we went to see new moon at the gateway. one of my clients rented out an entire theater for a pre-screening at 9 pm and so i proceeded to get a total of 56 tickets for family and friends. it was a blast, and so nice to not to have to stay awake into the middle of the night, although i glady would have done so.

we went with some of the fellow twilighters to the yummy olive garden before the movie.
that food is so stinkin good!

we were able to talk my mom into coming with us
isn't she the cutest mom?! i love her

here is some of us at the movie. my sisters in law and i had some really cute sweats embroidered to say "new moon" on the bumb and "twilight" on the back of the zip up hoodie. they turned out really cute, thanks to ginger for putting all that together. i had a few people call me wanting to get some made, had we known they were going to be such a hit we would have put a patent on them and made some money! jk i am certain we were not the firsts. also, so good to have our good friends jeff and gretchen pettey with us! i know it was a sacrifice jeff.

my personal favorite photo of the evening:
my own personal edward!

we had a fun time and i LOVED the movie, way better than the first one. and unlike some of my fellow team edward friends i did not switch to team jacob..tisk tisk. thanks lisa for renting out the theater and letting me buy 1/4 of it! only 7 short months till eclipse! make fun all you want i know i am obsessed and am not embarassed.

happenings as of late...

we have been up to some fun stuff lately here is what we have been doing,

ashlan and nick martin welcomed baby boy
bronson pearce martin
11/9/09 6:34 pm
8 lbs. 9 oz. 22 in.

he is a cutie, and you can't tell in this picture but garrett was nervous holding him. every time i looked over at him, his face was classic-a little frightened. he hasn't been around a ton of babies and it is cute when he is because he is so gentle and just so worried about how fragile they are..he will be a very good dad one day.
happy BIRTHDAY bronson!

today is garretts nephew, spencers birthday! i don't know if it was sweet...but it was 16!
we celebrated saturday night with a surprise party with his high school friends and all the family. his dad got him a jeep cherokee..watch out salt lake city! i guess we now have 2 nephews with the same birthday.
happy birthday spencer!

we went golfing this last saturday afternoon with the wings at bountiful ridge. it was lots of fun and a beautiful day, the last two holes got a little chilly once the sun went down, but it was a great afternoon! thanks for inviting us guys.

the ladies

they boys.

there were tons of deer on the course, linds was worried she was going to hit one..luckily she did not.

can't wait for new moon..only 10 days!

ashley and brady took us to the jazz game the other night..
they played the spurrs and they won! (can't remember the score but it wasn't too close)

sisters

the browns, thanks again for taking us! we always have fun with you guys
